TTD temple works begin in Karimnagar

WARANGAL: The construction works of the lord Sri Venkateshwara Swamy temple at Padmanagar in Karimnagar have begun formally on Wednesday with the officials and the priests of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) performing the foundation stone-laying ceremony by performing special prayers and conducting homam.,

The priests of TTD, which is performing the construction, performed Viswaksena Aradhana, Punyahavachanam, Agni Pranayam, Kumbaradhana, Vishesha Homam, Shankuvuku and Abhishekam before Prathama Shilanyasam ceremony in the early hours.

Speaking on the occasion, BC welfare minister Gangula Kamalakar, said that with the blessings of the lord Sri Venkateshwara Swamy and cooperation extended by the authorities of TTD, the dream of construction of lord Venkateshwara temple in Karimnagar was going to be realised.

When the proposal was taken to his notice, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao immediately allotted 10 acres of land for the construction of the TTD temple. After Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy approved, the TTD authorities sanctioned Rs 20 crore for the construction works of the temple.

The shrine will have all amenities including a temple pond, mada streets for taking out processions, preparation of prasadam and special quarters for the priests. The construction of the temple will be completed within one and a half years, said the minister.

TTD Chairman Y.V. Subba Rao said the temple will be constructed in the manner of the temple present at Tirupati with all facilities.

Telangana State Planning Board vice-chairman B. Vinod Kumar, civil supplies development corporation chairman Ravinder Singh, film development chairman K. Anil, Zilla Parishad chairman, MLAs S. Ravi Shankar, R. Balakishna, MLCs T. Bhanu Prasad Rao and P. Kaushik Reddy, Mayor Y. Sunil Rao, collector R.V. Karnan and police commissioner L. Subbarayudu were present at the programme.
