First Day-First Show to watch new movies at home in AP

VIJAYAWADA: AP State Fibrenet Limited chairman Gowtham Reddy announced on Tuesday that APSFL is launching the First Day-First Show programme to watch new movies on the first day of release itself.

This new concept will be launched on June 2 in Visakhapatnam. The public can watch the new movies in their homes by paying a subscription.

Gowtham Reddy said the producer who makes the film and the audience who watch will be benefitted by this arrangement. Henceforth, the Fibernet will be providing an opportunity to watch new movies sitting at home.

This programme has been designed in the manner of First Day First Show.

Industries minister Gudivada Amarnath will inaugurate the programme in Visakhapatnam. Hero R Sai as also producers council members C Kalyan and Rama Satyanarayana will be present.

“We will screen the movie Nirikshana which can be viewed through APSFL.”

In the context of the increase in the number of movie fans day by day, and when mediums like OTT are emerging, subscribers can view new movies by paying a subscription of Rs 99, which is designed to be watched live directly instead of via OTT, he said.

He said that since APSFL connectivity is already high in rural areas, this system will be more useful for those who cannot come to towns and watch movies in theatres.

Gowtham Reddy clarified that this policy will not cause any trouble to managements, theatre owners or actors. “Theatre owners need not worry about the footfall and this approach should be considered as just a theater,” he said and made it clear that a film will be screened only after producers approached APSFL.

“To bring APSFL close to the people in AP, we have set a target of 55,000km of OFC cable. So far, 37,000km of cable-laying is complete. Out of the 11,254 gram panchayats, 7600 villages have been given fiber net connectivity,” he added.
