Pawan Kalyan, Chiranjeevi skip Jagan’s swearing-in

After the swearing in ceremony, Mr Rao and Mr Stalin went to Mr Reddy’s residence in Tadepalli for lunch.

Vijayawada: Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan and his actor brother Chiranjeevi did not attend YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s oath-taking as the second Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh on Thursday. The BJP sent MLCs P.V.N. Madhav and Somu Veerraju as its representatives.

The Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium in Vijayawads was packed by 9.30 am and the crowd braved the heat till the programme began at about noon. Many politicians and bureaucrats were seen waiting outside, having failed to gain entry. Mr Reddy went around the stadium in an open jeep to greet the people before taking oath.

After the swearing in ceremony, Mr Rao and Mr Stalin went to Mr Reddy’s residence in Tadepalli for lunch.

Chief Secretary L.V. Subrahmanyam and family members of Mr Reddy, including his mother Y.S. Vijayalakshmi were present.
