Nalsar University served notice on backward classes quota

TS Congress spokesperson Dr Dasoju Sravan had approached the commission on May 29 demanding implementation of reservations by the university.

Hyderabad: The National Commission for Backward Classes on Thursday served a notice on the Nalsar University at Hyderabad and the Telangana state government on a complaint by the Congress, which alleged that it has not been implementing the mandatory quota for students belonging to Backward Classes.

The commission directed the Nalsar VC, principal secretaries of TS higher education and Backward Classes, welfare, the law secretary and the secretary for the TS Higher Education Council, to appear before it on June 4 to discuss the issue. TS Congress spokesperson Dr Dasoju Sravan had approached the commission on May 29 demanding implementation of reservations by the university. Dr Sravan cited references of his letter to CM that the university was not implementing the quota and Nalsar’s response to it.
