Make people feel India is for all: Kanimozhi Karunanidhi
THOOTHUKUDI: 'I congratulate whoever won in the election,” was the reaction of newly elected Lok Sabha MP from Thoothukudi, Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, who wanted the NDA government to ensure, at least in their second tenure, that India is a country for all.
Visiting the constituency to thank the electorate for giving her a massive victory, Kanimozhi Karunanidhi assured on Thursday that she would work as a Lok Sabha member to bring projects for the welfare of people and overall development of the constituency.
Adding that her immediate initiative would be to finding a solution to the drinking water problem in Thoothukudi constituency, Kanimozhi demanded that water bodies in the constituency be desilted before the onset of the monsoon.
Responding to Narendra Modi being sworn in as prime minister consecutively for the second time on Thursday, the DMK MP said, “I congratulate whoever won in the election. At least in their (referring to the BJP alliance) second tenure they should make people believe that India is a country for all sections of the people.” Kanimozhi also extended her gratitude to her party president M K Stalin for fielding her in Thoothukudi constituency and for her party's two Thoothukudi district secretaries, other party functionaries, cadres and alliance party leaders, who campaigned for her victory in Thoothukudi.
