Jamabhandhi programme begins in Thanjavur district

Thanjavur district collector A. Annadurai received 95 petitions from people at the Jamabhandhi (settlement of revenue accounts) which began on a quiet note in the district on Thursday.

The collector, received the petitions at the Jambhandhi for Thanjavur taluk, which he presided over at Taluk office. He disposed of 18 petitions immediately by taking decision on the spot and issued orders for 12 patta transfers, five social security schemes and one benefit to a differently abled person.

Revenue accounts for Perambur, Kalvirayanpettai, Pillaiyarnatham, Seeralur, Vennalodai, Sakkarasamantham, Vannarapettai, Alakudi were submitted and settled in the Jamabhandhi. Like in Thanjavur taluk, Jamabhandhi began in all the other eight taluks also-Budalur, Thiruvaiyaru, Papanasam, Kumbakonam, Orathanadu, Pattukottai, Peravurani and Thiruvidaimaruthur-in the district.

Jamabhandhi for Thanjavur taluk will go on till June 7. In all the eight taluks, Jamabhandi will go on till June 18, ending on different dates for each taluk.

Nedunchezhiyan, Joint director of agriculture and other officials participated in the Jamabhandhi at Thanjavur.
