Hyderabad: Collect garbage twice a day, says Dana Kishore
Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) commissioner M. Dana Kishore on Thursday instructed sanitation wing officials to collect garbage twice a day. He set a target of clearing at least 15 metric tonnes of garbage from each circle, and asked the staff to make the necessary arrangements and meet the target within 10 days.
Mr Kishore asked the sanitation wing officials to clear open garbage points on priority and collect trash from commercial areas at regular intervals. He said a special vehicle would be deputed in each circle to lift the building waste.
The GHMC commissioner pointed out that nearly 200 metric tonnes of plastic had been cleared as part of the special drive launched to collect and clear plastic, and stressed that this should be a regular exercise. He instructed the assistant medical officers for health (AMoH) to be on the field by 6 am every day and ensure 100 per cent cleanliness.
This apart, Mr Kishore asked the officials to focus on implementing the Harita Haaram scheme.
He instructed officials to plant 2 lakh saplings in each circle and asked them to identify the empty spaces in the city to plant them. Mr Kishore said that plants would be distributed among around 24 lakh households in the city.
