Sleepless nights for residents
Hyderabad: Residents in several city areas that infrastructure agencies are working at night, creating inconvenience. The agencies are blocking roads from 1 am to 5 am without notice in residential areas.
Mr Nakul Sabarwal of Tarnaka, said the loud noise made by the equipment at Street No 1 in Tarnaka over two days was giving them sleepless nights.
The agency says it will install CCTV cameras in one day has been digging roads for two days from 1 am to 4 am.
Echoing his concern, East Marredpally resident Sanjay Mathew questioned the need to install the CCTV cameras a week before the monsoon. He said going by past experience, the agencies do not repair the roads, which result in minor accidents.
Prashasannagar resident Askari said Water Board officials had started road cutting two months ago and the work was going on.
The condition of roads had deteriorated after the rain earlier this month, and they had not been repaired. “The loud noise made by the workers in the residential area is causing additional trouble.”
Residents claimed when the issue was taken to the notice of police, they said that the works have been carried out in the public interest and could not be done in the morning due to the pressure of traffic.
