The Chief Minister, in Ayodhya, will review the development work in the Faizabad-Ayodhya division.

Lucknow: After two postponements, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will finally visit Ayodhya on Wednesday.

He was earlier scheduled to visit Ayodhya in March and then in April but both the programmes were postponed.

He will be the first Chief Minister in 26 years to visit Ayodhya. The last chief minister who visited Ayodhya was Mr Kalyan Singh, who went there with his cabinet in 1991.

The Chief Minister, in Ayodhya, will review the development work in the Faizabad-Ayodhya division.

He will also attend the ‘Janamotsav’ of Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, chief trustee of Ram Janambhoomi Nyas in Ayodhya.

Later, the Chief Minister will visit the Hanuman Garhi temple and the banks of Saryu River.

It is not yet known whether Yogi Adityanath will offer prayers at the makeshift Ram temple at the disputed site but sources said that he may go there since it is located at a short distance from Hanuman Garhi.

He will interact with party workers in the auditorium of the Avadh University and then hold a meeting with senior officials of the division. The development of Ayodhya as a tourist centre will be on the agenda.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will inspect the Deenbandhu eye hospital and then attend the Janamotsav programme of Mahant Nritya Gopal Das.
