No option but war': TJAC chairman
Hyderabad: Hinting that he was losing patience due to the government remaining unmoved even after series of agitations, TJAC chairman M. Kodandaram on Tuesday said that waging a war alone appears to be the way forward to bring “people’s Telangana”.
He was participating in a roundtable meeting on Telangana, organised by Telangana Journalists Vedika where he said that a ‘naya jagir’ rule is now existing in the state and this certainly was not the government people expected during separate Telangana agitation. “We wished that there would be a government responsible for the people, cater to all sections of the society and moreover, sensitive towards people’s issues after formation of separate Telangana state. However, the three year rule of TRS is almost similar to the governments that existed in undivided AP,” Prof. Kondandaram said.
He said all the systems have been made to collapse in the state and everything is being decided and dictated by only one person, the Chief Minister.
Prof. Kodandaram also flayed the government for ignoring and not taking corrective measures over the massive corruption taking place at all levels and in all departments in the state.
“If the government is serious in checking corruption and building 2BHK houses for all, let it take steps to check corruption in Mission Bhagiratha and Mission Kakatiya, lot of amounts can be saved which can be diverted to the housing scheme,” the TJAC chief suggested.
Former Assembly Speaker K.R. Suresh Reddy criticised the three year TRS rule, saying that it has brought nothing for Telangana state, and said that the Chief Minister has failed to represent the state issues to Centre and getting them resolved.
