Hyderabad: The Local Military Authorities (LMA) have received internal instructions from the Ministry of Defence to keep the Gough Road open.
The military authorities, however, are yet to issue an official statement about what they are going to do after the new development.
Sources said that the LMA has been given oral instructions on extending the date for closure of the Gough Road by six months. The LMA is likely to issue a statement by May 31.
The military authorities had earlier announced to close the Gough Road. However, following multiple representations from the state government to the Ministry of Defence, this has been put off for two years.
