Supreme Court relief for Pratyusha Banerjee beau
A vacation bench dismissed as withdrawn a special leave petition filed by the mother of Pratyusha.
New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday declined to interfere with an order of the Bombay high court granting anticipatory bail to Rahul Raj Singh, main accused in the case relating to the alleged suicide of Pratyusha Banerjee nationally acclaimed TV actress of BalikaVadhu fame.
A vacation bench of Justices P.C. Ghose and Amitav Roy dismissed as withdrawn a special leave petition filed by the mother of Pratyusha seeking cancellation of the anticipatory bail granted to Rahul Raj Singh.
Counsel for the petitioner, P.B. Suresh and Vipin Nair and P.B. Suresh strenuously argued that custodial interrogation was necessary in this case as there was no suicide note left by Pratyusha.
