New Delhi: Citing long-standing friendly ties between India and Kenya, President Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday said the relations between the two countries will continue to expand and scale new heights.

In a message to Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta, the President of the Republic of Kenya, Mukherjee said the long-standing friendly ties between India and Kenya have blossomed into a robust and multi-faceted partnership.

"Our bilateral engagement has been further strengthened in recent years by regular high-level visits, growing trade and commerce as well as extensive people-to-people contacts.

"Our countries also share common views on issues of regional and global interest and cooperate closely in regional and multi-lateral fora. I am confident that this relationship between our two countries will continue to expand and that our interaction and cooperation will scale new heights," the President said.
