Hyderabad: EFLU throws out student for protests

On May 5, the university had issued a notice informing that its campus was out of bounds for Sarath and another student.

Hyderabad: The admission of English MA student M.V. Sarath has been cancelled by the English and Foreign Languages University (Eflu) for “indiscipline”.

Sarath, who is presently at home in Kerala, received a letter from the university on Monday informing about the cancellation of his admission. The letter read: “Your registration for MA (English) stands cancelled on account of indiscipline. This is issued with the approval of the competent authority.”

Sarath had been issued a show-cause notice last October along with 11 other students for “inciting unrest in university” and creating a “potentially disturbing atmosphere” as they had protested, demanding student union elections.

On May 5, the university had issued a notice informing that its campus was out of bounds for Sarath and another student, Nafas Parokkot, from MA Arabic and that they should be allowed only after taking prior permission from the proctor.
