Hyderabad: Telangana state Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Saturday instructed senior officers of the irrigation department to prepare a comprehensive plan to provide water to irrigate the maximum area under various ongoing projects as they have been built spending large amounts of money.
Mr Rao was reviewing the progress of construction work on the Kaleswaram lift irrigation project with the senior officials at Pragathi Bhavan.
The CM asked the officials to make arrangements to fill the tanks under the reservoirs by lifting the water from the Godavari as the construction many of pump houses and reservoirs would be completed by the end of May.
He asked officials to ensure the completion of all the canals under the project by the end of May so that water would be released during the monsoon to irrigate the area under the Kaleswaram project.
