Hyderabad police chides complainant, investigation ordered
Hyderabad: V. Satyanarayana, DCP South zone has initiated an enquiry through Falukanama ACP Syed Fayaz to probe the issue which came into light after the Chhatrinaka police inspector K. Manoj Kumar spoke in an inappropriate language with a complainant who called him late night with regard to an issue.
“The ward member of Chhatrinaka Sarvesh Kumar called me between 10.45pm and 11.00pm in the night to inform me about a stone pelting which happened at his house at 6pm in the evening. I just asked him why he did not complain soon after 6pm. He could have informed much much earlier,” said Manoj Kumar. He said, “Sarvesh happens to be a good friend of mine and I do not want to speak much on this.”
V. Satyanarayana, DCP South zone, however, said, “I have issued a charge memo to the officer concerned seeking an explanation as to why he spoke in an inappropriate language with the complainant. We as officers are here to protect and support people and not to demean them in any way.” Mr Satyanarayana also said the audio clip which went viral on social media platforms was an edited one. He said that, the complainant had provoked the inspector to speak that way, although he should have not have lost his temper.
