Hyderabad: The Exhibition Society, which organises the All India Industrial exhibition, had paid the fire brigade '20 lakh to station is personnel at the Numaish venue in Nampally.
Mr D. Mohan, an organiser with the society, said, “We paid the fire brigade to maintain the fire tenders. There was no water even in the mobile tankers which were kept in the grounds.”
The society members met with police officials and it was suggested that the exhibition will not be opened on Thursday. A final decision is yet to be taken.
Meanwhile, the wives of traders from Kashmir collected at the Exhibition Society and began crying as they were not able to locate their husbands. They said that the menfolk had helped them out of the stalls and rushed back to save their goods. The men were still missing, they said. The families were later reunited.
The Agra Food Court stall opened its doors for traders to have food free following the fire. Pista House sent 2,000 plates for the traders.
Pollution masks were distributed to fire fighters and the volunteers inside the exhibition.
