Kotla exit: congress says no big issue
Kurnool: For the first time, the strong Kotla family seems to have let its grip on the District Congress Committee (DCC) go slack.
Though the invitation sent to media listed the name of former Union minister Kotla Surya Prakash Reddy as the main speaker to pay tributes to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on his death anniversary. Kotla refrained from attending the meeting confirming his interest somewhere else. Congress leader Byreddy Rajasekhar Reddy said, “Leaders may come and they may go but the Congress is a dynamic organisation that attracts lots of talented leaders. We are not worried about Kotla’s absence.” Though political atmosphere across the district had been hot over the past few days, the fog and chill that enveloped the city apparently dampened the spirits.
District Congress Committee president P Lakshmi Reddy, along with former MLA Byreddy Rajasekhar Reddy, claimed that Kotla Surya Prakash Reddy keeping away from the party will not harm its interests. People are with Congress and Rahul Gandhi is seen as a hope for the future of India.
