Hyderabad: The victims are very vulnerable to attacks after they are dropped off by their clients, police says. The victims rescued are always from Mumbai, AP and other states who are brought in temporarily. Officials said that investigations are on to crack the network that supplies women.
The girl is left alone or dropped off at the place by the men, leaving them at risk, said an official from Hyderabad City police, adding that she can be mauled, assaulted against her wish and even killed, and the incident will obviously be hushed up as they cannot report it without revealing the whole story.
Another modus operandi which was unearthed with the help of the rescued victims is massage centers and spas in the city, openly used for ‘services for men’ and even conducting cross massages.
In November last year, a West Zone Task Force Team raided nine massage centers in the limits of Panjagutta, SR Nagar, Banjara Hills and Jubilee Hills areas and apprehended 27 persons who were running these centers illegally. Officials seized Rs 59,700 and 26 cell phones from them.
“Most parlours have active prostitution rings operating from the premises. The owners flush or throw used condoms on the road,” officials said.
They collect as much as Rs 9,000 from an individual customer though the cost of the most expensive package is not more than Rs 6,000. As per the licensing conditions, they should have transparent glass doors without any latch, CCTV surveillance cameras, register customers, and for cross gender massages, the preference of the customer should be recorded along with his address and mobile number. Establishments fail to comply with this," explained a Task Force official.
On Saturday night, under the orders of West Zone Task Force Inspector, B.Gattu Mallu, the team conducted a special drive against massage centres conducting illegal cross massages, booked five massage centres at Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, Panjagutta and S.R.Nagar and arrested 19 persons. The places raided were identified as Modern Beauty Spa in Panjagutta, Rithika beauty spa at S.R.Nagar, MOH spa saloon and Leelan spa in Banjara hills and Sri Devi roup of beauty salon, Jubilee Hills.
