Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation’s vigilance teams on Wednesday busted a fake biometric attendance scam. Sanitary field assistants (SFAs) who have been registering attendance manufactured artificial thumb impression using synthetic material to fake attendance. As many as 17 SFAs were caught using the fake finger prints. In total, 84 synthetic finger prints have been found.
The raids were conducted in 12 circles including Charminar, Kukatpally, Moosapet, Malakpet, LB Nagar, Musheerabad and Quthbullapur.
Director, vigilance and enforcement, Viswajeet Kampati, said that raids were conducted after receiving several complaints. Mr Kampati said out them 9 SFAs were caught red handedly with the synthetic finger prints and remaining were indulging other irregularities. “We have prepared a detailed report regarding irregularities by SFAs and submitted to the commissioner.”
