Cyber crimes on women up, says Kerala Women's Commission
KOZHIKODE: Cyber crimes against women are on the rise, but the authorities were not initiating a proper system to curb them, feels Kerala Women’s Commission citing unattended complaints.
“Every month we receive more than 3,000 complaints, but not even 50 per cent of them come to the adalat,” panel member M.S. Thara said here on Wednesday.
“People should be more sensitive and react to atrocities against women, especially in the cyberspace. The police cyber cell seems not taking any action on such complaints.”
The adalat considered 93 complaints, besides 17 cases postponed during the previous sitting.
It resolved six among the 93 cases and postponed 49 to the next sitting.
Cases of children abandoning parents for properties also come up before the panel.
