Nellore: Yoga guru Ram Dev Baba has been mulling over establishing manufacturing units of his Patanjali Group, likely a food park, at Krishnapatnam soon. It is going to be the first unit of Patanjali in South India if the proposal is realised. The Baba himself revealed about his plans while speaking to media persons during a visit to Krishnapatnam Port on Monday. He said he is impressed by the environment, facilities and infrastructure at Krishnapatnam Port and commendable leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and his 15 years long association with him besides business friendly atmosphere is also one of the reasons for deciding to setup their unit in AP.

Hinting his intention about launching a Food Park in the vicinity of the port, he said his Patanjali Group will also set up its Yoga, Ayurvedic, Naturopathy and Spiritual Tourism Centres in the region. He also pointed to their plan to encourage farmers to go for organic farming with an offer to buy the produce to ensure the benefit reach them directly without any role for middlemen. According to Baba Ram Dev, Patanjali Group has been successfully operating manufacturing units in Haridwar, Noida and Nagpur. The group is also gearing up to commence their new unit at Thejpur in March and their target is to achieve Rs 25,000 crore turnover per year.
