Hyderabad: DGP Anurag Sharma suspended a DSP on Saturday for allegedly molesting a woman home guard. The armed reserve DSP, A. Lakshminarayana, had tried to sexually assault the victim earlier too. The victim, who is now posted at the Pargi police station, lodged a complaint with her superiors that the DSP had tried to rape her. The victim is a widow and was living alone.
Senior Telangana police officials said that an inquiry has been ordered against the DSP and a case would be booked depending on the report.
Earlier, the Secunderabad SP had faced allegations that he misbehaved with a woman staff in the police station.
