Hyderabad: A couple and their toddler burnt to death following a suicide bid of the wife at Rajendranagar on Friday night.
The victims were identified as A. Saritha, 25, her husband A. Krishna Goud, 30, and her 18- month-old son, Saikumar.
Police said Saritha set herself ablaze in the house and when her husband tried to extinguish the fire, his body also got burnt. During the chaos, the toddler was also burnt alive.
Cops suspect Saritha had been quarreling with her husband and depression pushed her to suicide.
The incident occurred in Laxmiguda at around 11.30 pm. “She poured kerosene over her body and lit herself. As the fire spread, Krishna Goud tried to extinguish the fire. However, his dress caught fire. The kid also sustained serious burns,” said Mailardevpally sub-inspector I. Mahendranath.
The neighbours put off the blaze and took them to hospital. However, all of them succumbed.
Police found that Krishna Goud, who runs a grocery shop, had debt and often fought with his wife on this issue.
