Dakshina Kannada to vaccinate nearly 1 lakh children in 15-18 years age group

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district administration is making preparations to vaccinate 1.01 lakh children in the 15-18 years age group.

The vaccination for children between 15-18 years will begin from January 3.

Deputy Commissioner Dr. K V Rajendra held a meeting at his office to supervise the preparations.

He directed the officials to conduct the Parents Teachers Association (PTA) meeting in the educational institution to provide information about vaccination.

“There are 1,01,549 children in the district who are eligible for vaccination. Based on the list prepared by the schools, colleges, and ITIs, an action plan should be prepared to organise vaccination camps,” the DC said.

“Government has decided to provide Covaxin to these children. Vaccination should be organised in schools and colleges through the respective Primary Health Center (PHC),” he added.
