TTD has details of kidnapping suspect

Tirupati: Despite an intensive search, the man who stole a one-and-a-half year-old boy from Tirumala on Friday still remained at large. The boy, Veeresh Dalimbe, was abducted when his parents were sleeping at a mandapam in Tirumala on Friday.

The police on Saturday released the suspect’s picture. The police has recovered the CCTV footage showing the man at the tic-ket counter at the Tirupati station and found that he had left for Guntakal. Disclosing details to mediapersons, superintendent of police K.K.N. Anbura-jan said teams had been been deployed to various parts of Andhra Pradesh besides Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Karnataka and Maharashtra to trace the kidnapper. We are confident of nabbing the kidnapper soon and rescuing the child,” he said.

Meanwhile, it was learnt from sources that the TTD Vigilance personnel had taken the man into custody two days before the incident on suspicion. He was later released as the TTD staff did not find him having done any wrong. Vigilance personnel recorded his name as Balaji, who had come to Nellore from Uttar Pradesh to work at a construction site.
