Bengaluru: Bengaluru can party till 2 am! And it has the blessings of T. Suneel Kumar, lPS, City police commissioner, who has given permission to the hotels, eating houses, bars/restaurants, recreational clubs situated in the jurisdiction of the Bengaluru City Commissionerate to keep their doors open till 02.00 am on January 1, 2019.
There are some caveats, of course. The Management of these establishments should obtain required permission from the Excise Department, Government of Karnataka for serving liquor beyond the stipulated period i.e., till 02.00 Hrs. on Jan 1, 2019 during the aforesaid period. This order is not applicable to establishments stipulated by the Excise Department under CL-2 Category, that is wine & liquor shops.
In addition, all establishments as mentioned must take all necessary precautions to maintain public order and not to create any nuisance to the individuals and public at large by playing loud music. This order shall be treated as "No Objection Certificate" for the purpose of obtaining necessary permits from the Excise Department, the police statement said.
