KPCC President Dinesh Gundurao slams PM Modi over loan waiver remark

In a hard-hitting tweet, Mr Rao said, \"Pathetic behaviour by @narendramodi.

Bengaluru: A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi termed the Congress-JD(S) coalition government's decision to waive off farm loans as one of the “most cruel jokes” on farmers, KPCC President Dinesh Gundurao on Saturday hit out at him stating that his remarks showed his pathetic mindset.

In a hard-hitting tweet, Mr Rao said, "Pathetic behaviour by @narendramodi. He does nothing to give solace and support to distressed farmers, instead goes around deriding those who are trying their best to give them relief. Sadistic pleasure I tell you.”

The KPCC President said, “Since Congress party's inception, we've fought for justice equality & freedom, & we at @INCIndia will continue to do so, because we believe in an India free of hate & prejudice For those who's agenda is a Congress Mukt Bharat, let me assure you...you'll never succeed.”

Mr Modi on Friday had stated that the coalition government’s loan waiver plan benefited only a handful of farmers and the decision would go down in history as one of the “most cruel jokes” on farmers.

“The farmers want attention. But those in power in Karnataka are steeped in arrogance. The common man wants development, but those in power want only the development of dynasty. People want corruption-free development, but they want development-free corruption,” the Preime Minister said while interacting with Bharatiya Janata Party workers.
