Hyderabad metro to broaden Numaish's charm

Hyderabad Metro Rail has agreed to run extra trains with increased frequency up to 11.30 pm.

Hyderabad: The Old City contributes 60 per cent of the stalls and visitors to Numaish, the annual All India Industrial Exhibition, that will start on January 1.

This time though, the Exhibition Society expects more visitors from across the city as the ground is connected by Metro Rail on the Miyapur-LB Nagar Red line.

The Hyderabad Metro Rail has agreed to run extra trains with increased frequency up to 11.30 pm. Special counters are arranged in the Exhibition Ground near the three gates to purchase Metro tickets.

Last year, 20 lakh people visited Numaish and this time the number is expected to go up to 25 lakh during the 46 days of the exhibition.

The entry fee will remain at '30 per person. An exclusive mobile application has been developed for the convenience of the visitors which will provide directions to the stalls in the exhibition.

Exhibition Society president and former minister Etala Rajender said, “Metro Rail trains will ease the traffic as well as help increase the number of visitors to the exhibition.”

He said various departments of the state government and the Exhibition Society were taking measures for the safety and security of visitors.

The Society has been focusing on hygiene and cleanliness.

This year 2,500 stalls have been allotted to exhibitors, including PSUs, corporate and multinational companies as well as local traders and manufacturers. He praised the society for running 18 educational institutions which are providing excellent education.

According to society office-bearers, this time free parking facility in and around the Exhibition Ground will be provided with the help of the police.

Visitors will be served free drinking water.

Three photo points — Mahatma Gandhi Circle, Love You Numaish and Eiffel Tower — will be provided where visitors can take their snaps. More lawn spaces and relaxation areas will be provided for the visitors.

Signages in three languages, English, Telugu and Urdu are being displayed indicating directions to various facilities and shopping areas.
