Hyderabad: MBBS docus misused, rues doc

Man claims hospital registered fraudulently.

Hyderabad: A doctor has filed a complaint in the Kothur police station in Cyberabad commissionerate, claiming that his MBBS certificate had been used without his knowledge to get registration and licence for running a hospital in Shadnagar. He submitted the certificate when he joined the hospital, but a year ago he left because of differences with the management.

Dr Y. Chandrakanth told this newspaper, “There used to be a hospital named Nakshatra Hospital in Uppal. They opened a small branch in Kothuru. In March 2017, I worked there for 25 days. I submitted xerox copies of my certificate to them while joining.

“After I got to know that they are doing abortions illegally, I left the hospital. They used my certificates and got the hospital registered fraudulently. They have not appointed a registered doctor also. The hospital was run by Ms Jhansi who is a fake doctor. I got to know about this two days ago through a person who was associated with the hospital.”

He further alleged that the chairman of the main Nakshatra Hospital in Uppal, Ravi Reddy, sold the hospital, which was in the name of his manager Sridhar Rao and the Kothur Nakshatra Hospital branch was in Dr Chandrakanth’s name.

“They cheated me and used my certificates. They haven’t appointed a registered doctor. If something happens, who would have been responsible? I filed a complaint regarding the same in the Kothur police station,” Dr Chandrakanth said.

Ms Jhansi, who Dr Chandrakanth said is a ‘fake doctor’, said, “Nakshatra organisations started the hospital and all the doctors used to come from the main branch. It is just a first aid centre not a hospital. They took the internship certificate from Chandrakanth with conscience (sic). He asked for partnership. I am not a doctor. I am a nurse. I worked as a technician. I have never made a mistake in my experience of the medical field.”

The manager Sridhar Rao said, “We have given the lease to two doctors. They didn’t change the registration. Chandrakanth knows that the hospital was registered in his name.”

S. Krishna, Sub Inspector of Kothuru police station, said a case of cheating has been registered and further investigation is on. “The case has been registered against four members of the hospital management,” he said.
