Hyderabad: Keeping in view the rise in the number of drunk drive cases in the city during New Year celebrations, Hyderabad police imposed strict restrictions and warned such motorists of stern action. Traffic cops said that anybody caught drunk during driving would have their case details mentioned in their Aadhaar data.
Hyderabad traffic police said that the anit-drunk driver operation will be conducted from 10 pm of December 31 to 5 am on January 1. More than 100 teams will be part of the drive.
With party-goers taking to bylanes during the night, special teams will be deployed in lanes depending on the intensity. The teams also equipped with body worn cameras will record the entire drive so that no drunk driver can escape by bribing cops.
Towing vehicles with teams and other checking equipment will be moving around and depending on the rush, they will set up a check point even in small lanes also.
Details of all the drunk drivers caught will be linked up to their Aadhaar data, which will affect their career options and in acquiring passports and visas.
