The bench permitted that petitioner to implead the Election Commission as respondent to the case.

A division bench comprising Justice Thottathil B. Radhakrishnan and Justice S.V. Bhatt was dealing with a PIL by Mr A Ramakrishna Reddy, MLA of YSR Congress, seeking to disqualify 22 MLAs of YSR Congress including, Ministers C. Adinarayana Reddy, S. Krishna Ranga Rao, Amarnath Reddy and Bhuma Akhila Priya.

The bench said that it will deal with the matter without reference to the case pending before the Constitutional bench of the Apex Court.
