Hyderabad: The Income Tax department served notices to the close associates of Gangster Nayeem, who was killed in an encounter on August 8, 2016, seeking the source of income of their movable and immovable properties in various places in both the Telugu states.
An official from the I-T department said that based on an investigation done by the Telangana State Crime Investigation Department and other credible information, they pasted notices at the houses of Pasham Srinu, close associate of Nayeem, and seven others. “The eight associates have properties including agriculture lands, plots, buildings and other assets at Yadadri, Bhuva-nagiri, Bibi Nagar, Nalgonda, Miry-alguda, Hyderabad and few parts in Andhra Pradesh in both Andhra and Rayalaseema reg-ions,” the official said.
The official further said that in cases of those who were in jail as under trial prisoners, the department pasted notices at their houses in Bhuvanagiri and other places in Yadadri-Bhuva-nagiri district. “We have already served notices to Nayeem’s mother Tahera Begum, wife Haseena Begum, sister Saleema Begum and two other family members on September 25,” the official added.
