Chandrababu Naidu examines drone footage of trunk infrastructure, ADC
Vijayawada: The Chief Minister Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu held a weekly meeting with the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA). The Chief Minister has examined drone footage of the development of trunk infrastructure, and Amaravati Development Corporation (ADC) Chairman Lakshmi Parthasarathy submitted a detailed report with the different dates of completion.
He urged the service providers, NCC and BSR, to speed up the work on the roads. He also reviewed the progress on the different housing projects for government employees. The housing for MLAs and AIS officers has been awarded to NCC. The excavation of top soil is in progress, and the project will be completed by February 2019. It will comprise of 18 towers, and costs around Rs.635.9 crore.
The housing for non-gazetted officers is being executed by L&T, and comprises of 22 towers. The Amaravati government complex for gazetted officers and housing for group D officers will be undertaken by SPCL, costing approximately Rs 707.43 crore for 21 towers. He also reviewed the progress on ETS surveys. Architects from Foster+Partners presented design options for the Secretariat buildings, based on the feedback provided by the Chief Minister. in the previous meetings.
The Chief Minister dedicated a large part of the meeting to discuss these designs, and gain feedback from all the officials present at the meeting. Tomorrow, there will be a follow-up meeting, in which officials will narrow it down to fewer improved options based on the insight gained during the meeting. A Letter of Agreement was given to Global India International School today, which will introduce IB curriculum in Amaravati. The school has 23 units across 7 countries, and 8 branches in India alone. The Chief Minister told them to aim at being ready for the next academic year (June 2019).
Officials told the Chief Minister that 59,014 commercial and residential plots have been allotted in the capital for 23,903 farmers. There have been 3,335 registrations completed so far. The Chief Minister asked them to simplify the process as much as possible for the farmers, and encourage registrations.
Minister for MA&UD Dr.P. Narayana, Principal Secretary Mr. Ajay Jain, CRDA Commissioner Dr. Sreedhar Cherukuri and ADC Chairman & MD Mrs. Lakshmi Parthasarathy were also present in the meeting.
