Andhra Pradesh: 8,000 approach SC, ST panel for justice

Karem Sivaji assured that efforts were on to solve them and hand over the land to the genuine owners.

Eluru: State SC and ST Commission chairman Karem Sivaji said that as many as 8,000 complaints have been received from people belonging to the SC and ST communities seeking justice in the state. Speaking to newsmen here on Wednesday, Mr Sivaji said a majority of the complaints were from West Godavari dealing with land disputes. He assured that efforts were on to solve them and hand over the land to the genuine owners.

He said that people belonging to ‘Nayi Kodi’ community living in Chinthalapudi and Polavaram Assembly segments were facing trouble in getting caste certificates for the last 10 years and added that their issue was taken up to the notice of the government and assured to provide all help, including getting caste certificates from the revenue authorities concerned without facing any trouble.

The State SC and ST Commission chairman said he was committed to ensure justice to people belonging to SC and ST communities and called upon those facing any injustice to approach him and assured to help in solving them by taking up their issue with the government.
