Hyderabad: Civic body to go cashless in December

The payment modes will be through GHMC official website.

Hyderabad: GHMC is likely to begin cashless payments from December. The payment modes will be through GHMC official website, or MyGHMC Mobile App and through hand-held devices wherein GHMC bill collectors will approach citizens for payment and accept cheque and DD. Citizens can pay through citizen service centres at circle offices or head office and Meeseva or APOnline for the payment of dues. They can also transfer funds through RTGS / NEFT in favour of commissioner, GHMC.

For payment through official website, go to http://www.ghmc.gov.in/ , then go to payments – property tax – enter PTIN number, dues will be shown – enter mobile number and mail ID and select payment method (net banking, credit card, debit card) and proceed to pay. For MyGHMC Mobile App, go to property tax tab, click on property tax dues, enter PTIN number then enter payment mode.

GHMC has also decided to increase its number of Rs 5 per meal kiosks from the present 50 to 150 to help poor people affected by the demonetisation drive. The '5 meal is served in the afternoon at special kiosks opened by GHMC. Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Mon-day had said that if the state has to survive post demonetisation, it should adopt ‘cashless transactions’ as soon as possible. Addressing a press conference, the Chief Minis-ter had said that cash transactions will be allo-wed only up to '500 and anything over and above this limit, has to be done through bank like cheques, debit cards etc.
