Chennai: Asserting that his government will not be cowed down by the opposition DMK threat of filing cases before the court, Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Monday averred that ‘no one can touch’ his government.
“Some people are dreaming of dislodging the AIADMK government and even cause a split in the party. This will never happen. Due to the blessings of our iconic leaders: M.G. Ramachandran and former Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa, this government will continue to serve the people. No one can touch this government,”Mr. Palaniswami said while accepting a reception accorded to him in Madurai in the State while he was proceeding to Pasumpon (in neighbouring Ramanathapuram district) to participate in the 56th guru puja and 111th birth anniversary of Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar on Tuesday.
The DMK came up with the accusations of corruption against the State government only to “cover up” the numerous cases being faced by the former DMK Ministers, he alleged and cautioned that the AIADMK government would not be cowed down by such threats and would overcome all the cases legally. "And we will continue to ensure governance that people wish for," he added.
Palaniswami appealed to the party members to take a vow on the occasion at the feet of Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar to strive for the victory of the party in the by-elections.
