Hyderabad: Two youths who had come for a picnic at a resort, drowned in a tank at Bhuvangiri on Sunday afternoon.
According to the police, the victims identified as Sai Kiran, 25, and R. Kishore, 24, both residents of Anandbagh in Secunderabad had come along with their family members for a picnic at Divya Resorts.
Around afternoon, when the elders were busy, the youths went near the pond. “They were walking on the ropeway when Kishore slipped and fell in the water. Sai Kiran, in an effort to rescue him, also plunged into the water. Both of them drowned before anybody could help them,” said K. Venkatesh, sub-inspector, Bomalaramamam.
The cops rushed to the spot and retrieved the body with the help of swimmers. The bodies were shifted to the government hospital where a postmortem examination was performed and the bodies were handed over to the family members. The police registered a case based on a complaint.
