Hyderabad: Autonomous engineering colleges under JNTU seek easing of rules
Hyderabad: Autonomous engineering colleges under the JNTU-Hyderabad are now seeking a relaxation of rules that are being extended to autonomous colleges in other states.
They have sought a permanent affiliation with the university, inspections at least every three years rather than each year as well as relaxations in the appointment of staff with an MCA background in the Computer Science department.
JNTU Vice-Chancellor Prof. A Venugopal Reddy has agreed to constitute a special committee which will look the into relaxations being given to autonomous engineering colleges in other states.
Based on this special committee’s findings and their report, a decision will be taken on the matter by senior officials, he said. There are a total of 21 autonomous colleges — including Vardhaman Engineering College, CMR College of Engineering, MLR Institute of Technology, Malla Reddy College of Engineering, Anurag Engineering College etc.
