Hyderabad: Upholding the ethics key in medical filed, say experts

HYDERABAD: In the wake of the ESI medical scam that rocking Telangana state, speakers at the convocation of Administrative Staff College of India’s Post Graduate Diploma in Hospital Management (PGDHM) underlined that adhering to ethics is very important in hospital administration.

Mr Richard B. Saldanha, a corporate management expert, who was the chief guest at the convocation ceremony of the 2017-19 PGDHM batch, said, “We are not here to make money but to serve society. Create value by holding on to values.” Mana-gers of hospitals must aspire to serve patients with utmost care and dedication, he stated.

Dr K. S. Ratnakar, director of Global Medical Education and Research Foundation, said healthcare managers are custodians of ethics in hospitals. “Please do not resort to ESI kind of scams because they are an utter disgrace to the noble profession,” he maintained.
