Hyderabad: Dogs maul infant in Banjara Hills
Hyderabad: In a horrific incident, an infant’s body partly eaten by dogs was discovered on Road No. 13 of Banjara Hills late on Saturday night.
According to the police, the body was found around 2 am by Ali, a passerby, who was returning home after watching a late night show. He saw a pack of stray dogs fighting each other over something.
Suspecting something was amiss, he chased away the dogs only to find the mutilated body of the infant, a part of it eaten by the strays. Ali immediately informed the Banjara Hills police, who rushed to the spot. They shifted the body to the Osmania General Hospital mortuary for post-mortem.
The police suspects someone unknown had abandoned the infant’s body on the road. It is yet to be known whether the child was alive or dead when abandoned. Police are verifying CCTV footage of the surrounding areas to identify the person or persons who abandoned the baby.
The Banjara Hills police has booked a case and is investigating.
