DMK MPs advised to serve people

The DMK will remain focused on services to the people and his advice to party MPs’ is in line with that objective.

Chennai: DMK president M. K. Stalin on Thursday has advised all his party MPs’ to fully engage themselves to go their constituencies, meet people and redress their grievances by taking them up with the concerned officials.

The DMK will remain focused on services to the people and his advice to party MPs’ is in line with that objective. Stalin at a meeting of DMP MPs’ at the party headquarters ‘Anna Arivalayam’ here, also called upon them to communicate the issues raised in parliament to the people of their respective constituencies.

Stalin also advised the MPs to quickly open their individual offices in their respective constituencies that would enable them to interact with Local departmental officials and coordinate with them in resolving people’s issues.

Later speaking to reporters, Stalin thanked the media fraternity for their assessment and criticisms of his one-year tenure as DMK president, along with seniors like Durai Murugan, now treasurer of the party. “I take both bouquets and brickbats with equanimity,” Stalin said. “The media has also given me a lot of advice and I will consider them and act accordingly, “ the DMK leader said. He said the work done so far by them in Parliament and the way ahead was discussed. “I don’t weigh achievements against crisis and I shall walk on the path shown by former Chief Ministers Kalaignar Karunanidhi and Perarignar Anna,” Stalin added..
