September 2 event not a poll meet, says Kavitha

Ms Kavitha said the public meeting was not a campaign for early polls as being alleged by Opposition parties.

Hyderabad: Nizamabad MP K. Kavitha, on Monday said the Telangana Pragathi Nivedana Sabha being held on September 2 on the city outskirts was a platform for the TRS government to release its progress report of four years of rule. She said the TRS government has elevated Telangana to No.1 position in various spheres in the country.

Ms Kavitha said the public meeting was not a “campaign for early polls” as being alleged by Opposition parties. “We want to put the progress report of TRS government before the people. There is a need to inform public about the achievements of the TRS government in the past four years,” she said.

The MP said the TRS, under the leadership of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, has brought in rapid development in agriculture and industry sectors besides in ensuring the welfare of all sections of people, irrespective of caste, creed or gender. “The CM devised welfare schemes in such a manner that all people who are socially and economically backward can avail the benefits. Income has been taken as criterion to ensure that the benefits reached the needy,” she said.
