K Chandrasekhar Rao wants dam operation plan

Rao was speaking at a joint meeting on Tuesday at Pragathi Bhavan with agriculture, irrigation, Mission Bhagiradha and revenue officials.

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has directed officials to prepare new operation manuals for irrigation projects. Officials should list out how much water would be allotted to Mission Bhagiratha from each project, besides for the agriculture and power sectors.

He said directions and suggestions given from the capital should take into consideration regarding the release of drinking water. He said 10 per cent of water should will be reserved in every reservoir for drinking purposes.

Mr Rao was speaking at a joint meeting on Tuesday at Pragathi Bhavan with agriculture, irrigation, Mission Bhagiradha and revenue officials.

Mr Rao told the agriculture department to set up separate high-level units to monitor revamping of agricultural land records. He wanted registration office in each mandal and IT officials appointed at revenue offices.
