Railway Track Cleared: Trains Resume Services on Braganza Ghat Route After Landslide

Mangaluru: Despite facing challenges brought on by heavy rainfall, the South Western Railway's Hubballi Division successfully cleared the landslide that occurred between Castle Rock and Caranzol Stations of the Braganza Ghat section.

The track was restored and certified fit at around 12 pm on Sunday.

Engine rolling test was conducted, where a locomotive was run on the track, to assess and certify fitness of the track with regard to the safety parameters.
South Western Railway stated in a press statement that train services have now resumed on the route. The first Goods train made its way down the Ghat at approximately 3.30 pm. As an added precautionary measure, a temporary speed restriction of 10 kmph has been put in place for now.
