Sathyamangalam TR gets best managed tiger reserve award

Chennai: The sprawling lush-green Sathyamangalam tiger reserve in Erode district bagged the Union environment, forests and climate change ministry’s Best Managed Tiger Reserve Award on Monday.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi who released a report on the fourth cycle of Management Effectiveness Evaluation of Tiger Reserves, presented the award to Sathyamangalam tiger reserve for their work in the area of tiger conservation.
The recent 4-year study in Sathyamangalam tiger reserve confirmed that the annual increment of tiger population in Sathyamangalam TR is more than 30 per cent, which is recorded to be highest in a tiger landscape.
