Bengaluru: House approves finance bill
Bengaluru: Both Houses of the state legislature on Monday approved the finance bill and supplementary budget, soon after new Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa won the trust vote.
They were approved without any discussion after Chief Minister B.S.Yediyurappa made it clear that he has not changed any programmes or schemes of the previous Janata Dal (Secular)-Congress government.
The finance bill has to be approved before July 31, 2019, to enable the payment of salaries and perks to government employees, said the Chief Minister while placing the bill for approval.
The Chief Minister took a vote on account for Rs 62,751 crore for three months though former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah suggested that he should take the vote on account for the entire 2019-20 financial year instead of three months.
Sources said Mr Yediyurappa is planning to present a new budget with fresh programmes and schemes of his government in August or September this year.
The assembly gave the nod for supplementary estimates worth Rs 3,327 crore to take up drought relief work from funds released by the Centre.
