Telangana coaching classes squeeze students and parents for Eamcet-3

If the exam is held within 15 days' gap, the fee is likely to be Rs 5,000.

Hyderabad: Corporate colleges are gearing up again to squeeze students and parents in the name of coaching classes and another fresh Eamcet exam. A leading corporate college has even started a fresh batch and the classes started two days ago.

Though not many enrollments were seen, the college management was however successful in convincing a few rank-holders to waste no time and start their preparations for the medical entrance exam by joining the coaching classes.

The coaching fee will depend on the window for Eamcet-3, which the colleges are expecting to be between 15 to 30 days. If the exam is held within 15 days’ gap, the fee is likely to be Rs 5,000. For 30 or more, it will be in the range of Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000, the management of a coaching institute said.

As the national medical entrance test-NEET is starting this year, states have been given time till September 30 to complete the admission schedule for 2017-17, which is a 30-day extension from the regular schedule (August 31) being followed every year. As many as 56,000 students appeared for Eamcet-2; of them, nearly 10,000 candidates, who will be giving a serious shot at the exam, are likely to enroll for the new batches.

A faculty from a leading corporate college said top rankers and other performers will be keen on joining the coaching classes to regain the momentum lost due to the break for the last three weeks.

“A majority of the students went into a leisure mode after exam ended on July 9. Coaching classes are an alternative for them to get into study mode and hence parents encourage them to enroll instead of studying at home,” the faculty member said.

Lessons will not be taught as part of short-term batches since students have been studying the same syllabus for Eamcet-1 and 2.

The focus will be on conducting practice and grand tests on a daily basis so that medical aspirants will be fully prepared to write Eamcet-3 as and when it is held, a lecturer said.

Most of the colleges are likely to start their new batches within the next few hours (24 to 48 hours time) since the government has decided to cancel Eamcet-2.
