Hyderabad: Assistant professors who are working on contract in state universities have threatened to go on strike if the government did not respond to their demands including regularisation of their services.
They formed a joint action committee in a meeting held at Arts College on Thursday.
Dr Parandamulu, assistant professor, sociology, said the government had ignored the recommendations of the Prof. T. Tirupati Rao committee and announced the recruitment of 1,060 teachers. “In case of regularisation takes time, equal pay for equal work should be implemented,” he said.
