Bengaluru: Chief Minister Mr. Siddaramaiah announced that his government would explore the setting up an Industry-Government partnership entity to ease the doing of business in the state.

He was speaking at the 99th AGM of the FKCCI. The theme of this year's AGM was “Karnataka - A Pioneer in Make in India, Start up India and Digital India - Way Forward.”

It may be recalled that in his budget speech of 2016-17, the CM had promised the setting up of Invest Karnataka, a non-profit company to promote the industries in the state. The main task of Invest Karnataka is the development of project proposals and market intelligence. Industrialists and government officers would be on the board of the company, which would be managed by professionals.

"In order to make it more effective, we will explore the setting up an Industry-Government Partnership Entity, which would provide and promote a host of services under the 'Invest Karnataka' brand." he said. Mr. Siddaramaiah informed that his government had taken many steps in promoting the easing of doing business in the state. While stating that Karnataka was being put on a high growth trajectory, the chief minister said the government focus was to ensure prosperity for each and every person in the state. "Our goal is to make our state highly prosperous.” he added.

Mr. S Siddaramaiah informed that after New Delhi, Bengaluru had now become the second-most important city in the country when it came to investment or development.
